This is for all customers who come into my shop and never find the pattern they want. I've included here a list of sites where you can download free knitting patterns.
Artesano have recently added new free patterns for their Manos Wool Clasica yarn but they also have a small selection of free patterns for other yarns in their Artesano/ Manos del Uruguay range. You can buy Artesano and Manos as well as lots of other lovely from my friend Sophie at Twist Yarns.
Lets Knit has lots of lovely patterns and not just knitting ones either!
Rowan - you do have to register.
Coats Crafts have a good selection of both knitting and crochet patterns.
Debbie Bliss has a regular free pattern (only one though).
Drops Design has lots and lots of free patterns.
Interweave also has lots of patterns. This is a US site though so expect the terminology to be slightly different. Check out this site to convert from one to the other.
And the website all knitters and crocheters should be looking at is Ravelry
